With so many things to do in August in Northumberland we decided to create a dedicated list!
Aside from the world of exploring natures best secrets on the county’s beaches and along the coast, or its many castles and attractions. Summer is the time to enjoy yet more activities in Northumberland and with so much going on in the area, we thought we’d bring you a list of some of the things we feel you might enjoy.
So, whether it’s your first time to the area, or you’ve been coming to Northumberland for years; we think there’s something for everyone! Check out these festivals and fun days out.
Outdoor Theatre, Alnwick Garden
Immerse yourself in an outdoor theatre experience by watching the family friendly Wind in the Willows at Alnwick Garden running from 28th July to 26th August 2023.

If music festivals are your thing, you have plenty to choose from!
Lindisfarne Festival
From the 31st August to 3rd September head to Beal, Northumberland. The gateway to Holy Island for full of fun festival! Day tickets are available for the Saturday but it is over 18’s only.
From Music, comedy, yoga and more, the festival is in it’s 8th year and shows no sign of stopping. For more information or to book tickets, head here.
Hardwick Festival
A family friendly festival with children’s area from 18th to 20th August, with fairground and a line up including The Vaccines, Freya Ridings and Scouting for girls. For ticket and festival information head to their website here.
Party in the Park, Morpeth
25th of August for all the best tribute acts including, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, ABBA and loads more. More information can be found on their website here.
Warkworth Village Show
Best cake making skills at the ready for the 151st Warkworth Village show held in the Castle Grounds.
The Glendale Show at Wooler
Sheep shows, livestock, fairground rides, trade stands, dog agility and live music, this is a country show that has a lot to offer. August bank holiday Monday.

Rockin Railway, Aln Valley
Hosted by Alnwick Round table and Aln Valley Railway an evening of live music awaits with a bar and the backdrop of the Aln Valley Steam Engines.
Alnwick Beer festival
25th – 27th August, who doesn’t love a festival celebrating beer! Buy your tokens and enjoy your weekend of beer tasting.
Preston Tower Family Fun Day
A day full of laughter, music, magic, food and activities at this family friendly event, 12 noon until 5pm at Preston Tower on 19th August.
