Miles and miles of beaches!

All beaches in the AONB on the Northumberland Coast are dog friendly, there is the odd seasonal restriction, such as at Beanell Bay that tends to be more dune based due to shore nesting birds. Access to the beach is still allowed as long as dogs are kept under control on the beach and also on a lead through the dunes.

Dog friendly watering holes

Forest and woodland walks

If the open beaches all get too much then head inland to explore woodlands and hills.

Northumberland really is a dog’s paradise not only are there miles and miles of beaches, but why not venture to the acres of woodland in Kielder Forest, or Thrunton Wood.

National Trust’s Cragside has over 40 miles of footpaths for you and your dog to explore over their 1000 acre estate.
